Minor A Football:

Nenagh Eire Og were unable to field a football team last Wednesday in the second round of the championship. The minors have yet to play a game as Inane Rovers also failed to play the week previously. No match this week.

County Intermediate league:

Match cancelled by Ballybacon/grange last Sunday morning. This also had been cancelled previously.[see fixtures for upcoming games]

Tipperary draw:

Congratulations to two local winners in the Tipperary draw both of them won €500 each in the April draw Marion O 'Grady and the O 'Mahonys Shoreside. The new draw will start shortly, if you wish to join please contact Eugene Power draw co-ordinator or any club officers.

Local Lotto:

There was no winner of last weeks lotto, next weeks grand total will be €17,000 with a build up of €5,000. Numbers drawn were 4,18,23, 28. Thank you for your continued support .Tickets may be purchased in all local retail outlets, pubs, club officers or on line at Local lotto.ie €2 per ticket to be in with a chance to win/share in the grand prize.

Football U16:

U16 commenced their football championship with a hard fought victory over Shannon Rovers in Ballinderry last Monday evening.Despite losing centre back, Brian Connolloy, to a wrist injury after five minutes Ballina had the better of the first half and went four point up at half time, 0/5 to 0/1 scores from Ben King [0-3, 1 free] and scores from Patrick O' Donovan, and David Kelly The early part of of the second half continued in a simillar pattern as Ballina extended their lead by seven points with scores from Ben King, Liam Mc Grattan and Terry O 'Halloran but Rovers rallied and a considerable period of dominance deliverd two goals leaving the game finely balanced going into the last five minutes with just a point between the teams. After a series of near misses by Rovers and some serioius defending by the Ballina rearguard, the ball was worked up the field for Liam Mc Grattan to tap over the relieving point. After which Ballina regained the upper hand and held for a two point win 0/9 to 2/1. They now play Silvermines on April 8th at home at 6-30pm

Training:

As all teams are now back on the field please stick to allocated times for training and leave the field at the appointed time. As all the slots are been used in the field each night of the week and the week ends. Training times may be viewed on Ballina GAA website, or you may contact John Gleeson, Sarah Devane, or Eamonn Power if you wish to book a slot outside your allocated time.
