Club of the year awards: The club was honoured to host the club and player of the year awards for the North Board last Friday in the Lakeside Hotel. Representatives of all the North clubs and many club members and players were on hand to hear North Chairman Rocky Mc Grath compliment Ballina's successful year intermixed with his own memories of the club.Medals were presented to all winning club teams in all grades including the Ballina intermediates and Minors. This preceded the player of the year awards and a great cheer was raised for Pat Cosgrove who was the winner of the Intermediate player of the year award an honour truly deserved. Darragh Egan Kildangan and George Hannigan Shannon Rovers won overall player of the year awards. Three former refrees were also honoured by the Board.. The highlight of the night was the eagerly awaited presentation of the club of the year trophy to Ballina an honour last won in 2000. Club officers Sarah Devane, Caroline Mc Keogh and John Gleeson accepted the award on behalf of the Club.Sarah spoke appreciatively of this honour and what it means to the club, to have gained senior status and having won two county titles.She thanked all in management of our teams and all those who work in the juvenile and camogie sections. Sarah thanked all those who work within the club in all areas and paid tribute to the great support we had at matches this year. A great night for Ballina.

Adult Club AGM: The annual general meeting of the senior club will take place Friday 24th January @ 8pm in the club house. Club officers will be appointed and elected all members are asked to attend.

Timber Draw: A draw will take place for three loads of timber in the coming weeks. This draw is in aid of our training funds. Cards will be distributed this week at the AGM.

Medal Presentation: The club will hold their medal presentation function in the Lakeside Hotel on the 15th Febuarary more info next week.

Strictly Come Dancing Challange: Training has commenced Sunday evenings in the club house, we anticipate great fun and entertainment as dancers rumba towards a dance off with Portroe in March.

Newsletter: Issue five of the monthly reveiw of club activities is now available on line at Ballina.gaatipperary this newsletter keeps up to date on what is happening locally in our Senior club, Juvenile, Camogie, Handball and articles from the past and snippets of interest can also be seen. Well done to Ger Mc Keogh who updates this newsletter on a monthly basis. Any names photo or articles you wished to see included should be e-mailed to bealanathareveiw@gmail.com or may be given to club officers.

DVD's For Sale: DVD set of three of the County intermediate and Minor Final as well as the Munster Intermediate final are still available. Contact Caroline Mc Keogh, Club officers and may be purchased in local shops.

Juvenile AGM: The annual general meeting of the juvenile club will be held Thursday January 30th @ 8pm in the club house. The club are looking for volunteers to act as officers or mentors. If you are a parent or guardian please make every effort to attend.

Sympathy: The club would like to extend its sympathy to the Rohan family Cullina of Mrs Evelyn Rohan who recently passed away, also to Mary Bulger King family Drombane on the recent passing of her mother Mrs Carmel Bulger.May they rest in peace.

Nenagh Eire Og: Are organising a talk on depression and healthy living on January 24th in the Abbey Hotel at 7-30pm. Three guest speakers will give a talk Conor Cusack,(brother of Donal Og Cusack former Cork goalie) will speak of his own battle with depression Fr Tony Butler S.M.A wil reveal a way he found his way through depression and how he helps others. Seamus Hennessey will challenge us to participate in building a strong local community where caring health and hope are priorities. All coaches, mentors.players and members are encouraged to attend this venture. The invitation is open to all clubs.

Ballina Camogie: Camogie presentation night is on Friday Janurary 31st @ 8pm in the Lakeside Hotel. Presentation for players of the year from U10 - U16. The club will have teams from u10 to juniors in the championship in 2014.

Camogie AGM: The AGM will take place in the club house 27th January @ 8pm. All members and parents are welcome to attend.
