Juvenile Notes:

Juvenile Presentation Night

There was a big crowd in attendance in Boru On The Hill on Saturday night for our annual presentation night.

Our local star players Stephen O’Brien and Aidan Hanley presented the awards.

The coaches had decided that there would be no individual awards at U6 and U8 age groups. However all the U6s received a hurley grip and the U8s received a sliotar.

The U9 awards went to Sean Lyons and Donal Houlihan for most improved hurlers.

The U10 awards went to Conor Neill and Conor Shanahan for most improved hurlers.

The 11 awards went to Cian Molloy for most improved hurler and to Jack Grace for most improved footballer.

The U12 awards went to Jason Gleeson for most improved hurler and to Shane Kelly for most improved footballer.

The U13 awards went Mark Lyons for most improved hurler and to Dara King for most improved footballer.

The U14 awards went to Cian Neill for most improved hurler and to Neil Webster for most improved footballer.

The U16 award went to Luke Egan for most improved player and to Peter Mc Mahon for Player of the Year.

The juvenile club would like to Stephen and Aiden for presenting the awards.

U14 Tournament

The finals of the U14 tournament took place on Saturday afternoon in St Annes Community College Killaloe. Four clubs took part with Silvermines being a late withdrawal. Nenagh Eire Og overcame Kilruane Mc Donaghs in the first game to qualify for the final V Borrisolleigh. Kilruane played Ballina in the plate final. It was a tough close fought game with Kilruane edging it by 2 pts.

In the other final Nenagh Eire Og went down to Borrisoleigh by 4 pts.

Chairman of Ballina GAA Juvenile club Eamonn Power presented the trophies to the winners and runners up.

Thanks to Ronnie Power for all the work she put in organising the tournament and to Nenagh Eire Og, Kilruane, Borrisoleigh and Silvermines for taking part in the tournament. Thanks to the parents who provided food and helped out on the day and to St Annes Community College for the use of its pitch and facilities.
