Ballina GAA Notes 12th October 2015

Lotto Results

No winner of the lotto last week. Numbers drawn were 5, 8, 12, 22.

Jackpot for this week is €10,800!!!! Lines are €2 each and can be bought online by clicking on the lotto link on the Ballina GAA website, https://www.locallotto.ie/localhome.asp?LL_ID=390

Juvenile Notes:

U14s

Action for the season has wound down with only the U14 s still involved in games.

They played Kilruane Mc Donaghs last Saturday in the U14 tournament. While Kilruane won courtesy of a few well taken goals, our boys put in a good afternoon’s hurling with some lovely points from play. Considering the team had only a few U14s and was made up mostly of U13s they can be happy with their efforts.

They play Burgess next weekend.

Winter Training

The Saturday afternoon training sessions continue with good numbers taking part again last Saturday.

Senior Notes:

Junior Football

Unfortunately things did not go our way on Saturday last in Kilcommon in the county Junior Football semi-final. Golden got off to a good start and led by 3-7 to 0-3 at half time. We put in an improved performance in the second half, but the half-time gap proved to be insurmountable in the second half. Well done to Golden and best wishes in the final.

Hard luck to all involved with the panel on Saturday, it was just one of those days, but the year is not yet over as we have a North Final still to come against Newport.

Under-21 Hurling

Ballina will play Kilruane MacDonaghs in Puckane on Saturday next in Puckane. Please check with fixtures for confirmation. Please support if you can.

Congratulations

Congratulations and well done to Michael Breen who was selected on the Bord Gais Under-21 Hurling Team of the year. A well deserved award for Michael.

County Championship & League Structures

Do you thing the County Championships & Leagues can be improved within the county? Have you got an idea of what changes would help? If so please contact a club executive member with your ideas or email secretary.ballina.tipperary@gaa.ie. These will be discussed at the county Bórd meeting in November and if we as a club wish to make a submission, we must do so within the next month.
