Membership /Registration:

Thanks to everyone who has registered so far. We wish to remind all remaining club members that membership is now overdue. Membership must be paid as soon as possible to enable you to play and also to have a vote in the AGM.

Darkness into Light:

Ballina GAA club are honoured to have been asked to host the first Darkness into Light walk in Ballina/ Killaloe at 4.15 am on May 9th. The walk is the annual fundraiser for Pieta House. The launch, of what promises to be a memorable and mindful occasion, will take place at the Lakeside Hotel on Monday 13th April at 7pm. The local organising committee, which has already done Trojan work, is chaired by Bridie McGrath. More information will be posted through Facebook.

Sympathies: Our sympathies are extended to Mary Kennedy and family on the recent death of her sister Gabrielle, and to Millie O'Connell and family on the loss of her brother P.J.

5-year plan:

The club is presently developing a 5-year plan. The plan will cover everything from coaching to communications to facilities. Have you any thoughts or ideas on where the club should be going over the next 5-years??? Please email your thoughts and comments to secretary.ballina.tipperary@gaa.ie mentioning "5-year Plan".

Lotto Results:

Congratulations to Maresa McKeogh, Ballyea, who won the €20,000 jackpot!!! Winning numbers were 11, 16, 18, 28.

Jackpot for this week is €5,400. Lines are €2 each and can be bought online by clicking on the lotto link on the Ballina GAA website. ‘If you’re not in, you can’t win!’

Juvenile Notes:

U6s and U8s:

The U6 and U8 age groups return to training on Saturday 18th April at 10am. Helmets, Hurley’s etc. will be available to buy from the club shop that morning. All proceeds from the club shop go towards paying for the new field.

Results:

U12 Football U12 Group 3 played Lorrha in Ballina on Thursday 2nd April. They put up a great battle but ultimately Lorrha proved too strong for them.

U16 Football U16s played Inane Rovers on Monday 30th March, in Ballina. The conditions were very difficult with driving wind and rain for the entire match. Inane were victorious.

Upcoming Fixtures:

U12 Group 1 and Group 4 Both Group 1 and Group 4 travel to Roscrea this Thursday evening, 9th April to play Inane Rovers. Group 3 travel to Ballinderry on Thursday, 9th April to play Shannon Rovers. (Games have been moved forward to Thursday due to referees Presentation night on Friday).

U14 U14s first game of the football championship V Kildangan is deferred to next week to Tuesday night. (time to be confirmed.)

U16 U16s play Nenagh Eire Og in Ballina on Mon 13th.

Summer Camp:

Watch out for dates on the Kellogg’s Summer Cul Camp. Details will be available shortly from http://www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie/

Senior Notes:

Senior Hurling Challenge Cup:

Our Senior Hurlers will play Clonoulty/Rossmore in Round 1 of the County Senior Championship in The Ragg on Sunday 12th April. All support on the day would be great. Brian McKeogh has been appointed captain for the year.
