Strictly Come Dancing: Last Sunday evening was the grand final of the Strictly Come Dancing in Brian Boru on the Hill we welcomed our neighbours Portroe for the final dance off. A fun night of lively dancing and banter entertained the huge crowd who attended. The dance off was between the six couples from each club who reached the final, they took to the floor to the delight of the crowd. Rachael and David from Portroe were the overall winners on the night dancing the Charleston. Congratulations to them both and to all the dancers who participated in the Strictly Come Dancing. Our judging panel on the night were Marie Hogan-Dance Teacher, Liz Howard former camogie president and Burgess club person, Tony Considine, Irish Examiner columnist, former Clare manager, and Christy O' Connor Jnr 1989 Ryder cup hero. The competition was about community participation and without our families, supporters, fundraisers and sponsors it would not have been a success. We are well aware of the huge commitment given by the dancers and the organising committees over the last few months and are deeply appreciative of the time and effort so generously given. A huge thank you to anyone who was involved in any way with making the night a huge success.
