Inter-County Senior Hurling Match in Ballina.

It is hoped to have a Senior Inter-County game in Ballina on Monday 1st June. Details will follow next week, but it is planned to have Tipperary & a neighbouring county playing. We will need stewards on the day, so please let us know if you are interested in helping out.

5-year plan

The club is presently developing a 5-year plan. The plan will cover everything from coaching to communications to facilities. Have you any thoughts or ideas on where the club should be going over the next 5 years. Please email your thoughts and comments to secretary.ballina.tipperary@gaa.ie mentioning "5-year Plan".

Lotto Results

No winner of the lotto last week. Numbers drawn were 1, 18, 19, 22

Jackpot for this week is €6,600. Lines are €2 each and can be bought online by clicking on the lotto link on the Ballina GAA website, https://www.locallotto.ie/localhome.asp?LL_ID=390

Juvenile Notes:

U6s and U8s

The U6 and U8 groups have good numbers at training. Reminder to U6 parents that one parent must stay at the field while your child is training. This is for safety reasons.

U10/ 11s

Well done to the U11 boys who defeated Toomevara in the Community Games semi-final . They play Templemore in the final next weekend.

U12s

The U12 Group 3 boys put in a battling performance against Lorrha in the North Tipp final but unfortunately lost out. Hard luck to the boys and their coaches but they can be proud of the way they played.

U14s

The U14s bowed out of the football championship last Wed evening at the quarterfinal stage, losing out to the combined clubs of Moneygall/ Clonakenny. They played a challenge match v’s Ahane in preparation for the start of the hurling championship and had a good win.

U16s

Best of luck to the U16s studying for the Junior Cert at the moment.

Club Shop

Make sure you call to the club shop on Saturday mornings during training where you can buy helmets, hurleys and crested club gear. All profits go to the new field.

Senior Notes:

Senior Hurling

Our Senior Hurlers began their North Tipp Championship campaign with a very disappointing outing against Silvermines on Sunday last, 17th May 2015 in Nenagh. Ballina started brightly & remained competitive for the first half; going in 5-points down at half-time - Ballina 0-9, Silvermines 1-11.

The game was effectively over when Silvermines scored 3 quick fire goals in the second half. While this was a bad result, we have to look forward to our next game.

In Round 2, we are drawn against Kilruane MacDonaghs, fixed for Nenagh on Saturday 23rd May. This is the last chance saloon for the 2015 championship and we encourage as many people as possible to attend to support the lads against an in-form MacDonaghs side.

See fixtures for confirmation of game & match report for team & scorers.

Junior “B” Hurling:

Our final league game is fixed for Sunday 31st May in Ballina against Kildangan at 12noon.

County Bórd draw:

Final call for the Tipperary County Bórd draw. The first draw will be held on Friday night, 22nd May. We encourage as many people as possible to support this draw. Your money is split between the county & the club. Please contact Eugene Power or your regular promoter for more details.
