Ger Gavin Minor B North Hurling Title: Congratulations to our minor hurlers who had a great victory over Burgess in the North Minor Final in Dolla on Sunday afternoon.The boys were down six points at half time, made a quick come back in the second half with a goal and two points without reply from Burgess. They kept the pressure on with great determination and conviction winning out as worthy winners in a tightly contested game Ballina 1-16 to Burgess 0-15. At the final whistle there was great excitement, as the club having secured the North Intermediate hurling title two weeks previously. With the added u14 football and u12 hurling title it has been a great year so far for the club. Well done to the Minor hurlers and to the team management Aaron Devane [manager], Michael Hurley, Fr.Enda Brady and Carmel Bradshaw.We wish them the very best going forward in the county.

John Joe Nevin Tournament: The 10th Annual John Joe Nevin tournament took place last Sunday morning in wet blustery conditions. Well done to both our U10 hurling teams who had prepared so well ,battled bravely but were denied by the narrowest of margins. The final was contested by Portroe versus Smith O'Briens with our nearest neighbours across the river been worthy victors on the day. The trophy was presented by the late John Joe's wife Patsy. A great day of hurling was had by all.

Buy your Sod: Goode time to Buy Your Sod: With the contract for pitch developement about to be signed, now is a good time to 'Buy your Sod to Pitch in to Turn our Green Field Blue'. The Goode family of Ballina agree with the boys purchasing a certificate of ownership for their sod. So far sixty six sods have been sold to date raising a total of €3,300 since the launch of the scheme. The target is to raise €50,000 so dig deep to Buy Your Sod!www.ballina.tipperary.gaa.ie/buyasod or from shop or a committee members for €50.

End of Summer Social with pig on a spit: Thank you to those who have returned their ticket money. Anyone who hasn't please give it to a commitee member before September 21st.
