Junior B County League: Hard luck to our junior hurlers who were beaten in extra time by Kildangan last Wednesday evening in Ballina in the county semi final league final.

Bike for Ballina: A big thank you to all our volunteers, club players who came out last weekend to cycle, bucket collect and to our Chairperson Sarah Devane who coordinated the weekend. Results of Bike Off next week.

Local lotto: No winner from last weeks lotto numbers drawn were 8,17,20 and 22. Jackpot now stands at €11,600 to be in with a chance to win/share tickets may be bought all local shops,pubs, club officers and on line at www.localotto.ie.

Tipperary Football: Congratulations to Stephen O Brien and the Tipperary Footballers on their win against Limerick on Saturday evening. Stephen lined out in midfield.

Tipperary Senior Hurling: Hard luck to the senior hurlers in their loss against Limerick last Sunday in Semple stadium.Michael Breen was on the panel we wish him a speedy recovery from his injury. Well done to our Intermediate hurlers on their win against Limerick.

U8 Hurling: Were out last Saturday in Dr. Morris Park in the Tipperary hurling blizt against Durlas Og, Solohead and Upperchurch. Well done to the coaches and these young players and future stars of our club.

U12 Hurling: The U12 hurling championship started last Wednesday evening the U12 A team had a great win over Kildangan by 4 points. Disappointment for our second team who faced a very strong Templederry side in the U12 C grade. Congratulations to Templederry.Good luck to both teams in the championship.

U14 Hurling: Well done to the U14 who got their campaign off to a flying start in the B grade on Wednesday evening with a decent win over Newport. Well done to the team and coaches.

Best of luck: To all our players who are doing exams in the next two weeks we wish you the very best of luck, keep cool and we will see you on the field shortly.

U12 Football Group 4: What a super weekend for our under 12 footballers in Templetouhy at the County Football finals.The Blue team who are all still underage for next year went down fighting to an exceptional Clonmel Commercials side.. It was a huge credit to these boys to contest the county final and they will take stopping next year.Well done to these young players.

U12 Football Group 2: High drama as the red team faced a mobile and skillful Grangemockler/Ballyneal side who dumped a classy Golden side in the county semi final.The lads had failed to score in the first half against a strong wind but out of somewhere they found it within themselves to make a breath taking comeback scoring 1-08 without reply to win the county final on a 1-08 to 1-06 scoreline in the company of their watching parents,supporters,and parish.The late,late goal which was greeted with whoops of delight and relief came with normal time almost up. Congratulations boys you are the toast of Ballina. Heroes all of them. Well done to their coaches Eoin, Adrian, Eamonn, Nigel and Joe.

U14 Football: Hard luck to our U14 footballers who were beaten by a classy Kilruane Mac Donagh team in the North Final in Kilcolman last Thursday evening.. Great credit to these boys for getting to North Final.

Senior Hurling: Well done to our senior hurlers who were one point winners over the Silvermines in Nenagh on Sunday afternoon in the North Tipperary Senior Hurling championship. .Ballina 1-18,Silvermines 2-14. They will now play Moneygall in round 2 on the week end of June 8th.

Junior B Hurling:The junior hurlers are through to the county league semi final on the June bank holiday week end after their win over theSilvermines on Saturday evening last. Ballina 2-16, to Silvermines 11 points. Well done lads.

Primary School: Congratulations to Hazel Mc Mahon who will represent Ballina Primary School at half time, playing for the Tipperary schools team in the first round of the Munster championship Tipperary versus Limerick.

New Pitch: A whole new chapter in the history of the club started on May 13th with the commencement of works on the new playing pitch. Proud day for our club, parish and supporters. A big thank you to everyone who has helped us get this far and hopefully support us going forward with the development of the playing field. For those using the field, please keep in mind that the second field is a work area, with heavy machinery. It is not a play area and everybody should take care of themselves and those with them when they are in the field.

Local Lotto; No winner of the draw numbers drawn were 1,7,11,and 24 jackpot now stands at €11,400. The money generated from the lotto helps with the maintaining of the club. Sports Predictors Quiz: Many thanks to the people who entered the Ballina Sports Predictor Quiz. Hopefully this will add to your enjoyment of all of the main sporting events throughout the Summer, up until the final event which is the Ryder Cup in September.Topping the leaders board at present is Anna Gough and Caroline Mc Keogh.
