This weeks notes include: Membership/Registration; Lotto Results; Juvenile Notes: Easter Camp; Senior Notes: 5-year plan; County Senior Hurling Challenge Cup; Minors & Tipperary.

Membership /Registration

As we are now in the month of March, we wish to remind all remaining club members that membership is now due. The list of registered members will be posted in the GAA Complex each week.

Please contact any club officer ASAP about renewing your membership or go online to http://ballina.tipperary.gaa.ie/registration. All players must pay membership before end of March to be eligible to play and train with the club.

In addition to online registration, the Senior Club is holding a Senior Club registration morning next Saturday morning, 14th March, from 9:30 - 11:00 at the Club House

Membership has been set at €45 for full adult membership for the year. All registration types available from the registration link above. Rates have remained unchanged for the last number of years.

Lotto Results

There was no winner of the lotto last week. Winning numbers were 9, 10, 13, 15.

Jackpot for this week is €19,400. Lines are €2 each and can be bought online by clicking on the lotto link on the Ballina GAA website. ‘If you’re not in, you can’t win!’

Juvenile Notes:

With competitive action resuming in the coming weeks for U12, U14 and U16s, please note that registration is now due and can be paid online. You must be registered to play.

Easter Camp

Easter Camp has been confirmed for April 1st, 2nd & 3rd.

There is no online booking facility for this camp but bookings can be made through Ronnie Power, Juvenile Secretary.

Senior Notes:

5-year plan:

We are in the initial stages of drawing up a 5-year plan under the chairmanship of Peter King. If you feel that you would like to make an input to the immediate to mid term future direction of the club, please email your thoughts and comments to secretary.ballina.tipperary@gaa.ie mentioning "5-year Plan" in subject matter, particularly if living away from home.

County Senior Hurling Challenge Cup

Ballina 1-10; Loughmore/Castleiney 2-08

Ballina opened their County Senior Hurling Challenge Cup, in Ballina, on Sunday morning last (Sun 8th March). Both sides traded points early, but Loughmore struck for an important goal around the twenty-minute mark. At halftime the scoreline read Loughmore 1-5, Ballina 0-7.

The second half was evenly matched also, but Loughmore scored a goal with about 5 minutes remaining to lead 2-8 to 0-10. With time just up, Ronan Bourke responded with a goal, but there was not enough time to force extra time.

Squad: Martin McKeogh, Paddy O'Donovan, Gerry O'Brien, Donal Kent, Thomas Collins, Brian O'Connor, Kevin Cosgrove, Sean McKeogh, David Hickey, Ronan Bourke, Patrick Cosgrove, Diarmuid Healy, Ben King, Eoin Kent, Brian McKeogh.

Minors:

We would like to wish our Minor Selectors (Michael Cyran, Dermot Gleeson & Fran Hogan) and panel all the best for the year. Minor Players meeting on Friday evening. All players asked to make every effort to attend.

Tipperary:

Well done to Steven O'Brien & Tipp Senior Footballers on their second win of the National League on Saturday last, by beating Clare. Well done to Michael Breen & Tipp Senior Hurlers, who also beat Clare in the league on Sunday.
