Senior Hurlers: Unfortunately our senior hurlers lost out to Moneygall last Saturday evening in Nenagh by 2-19 to 1-24 after extra time in the North Tipperary Senior Hurling championship.Ballina will play Portroe in Rd 3.

Under 14 B Hurling: We suffered defeat at the hands of a strong Shannon Rover Gaels side in the field last Wednesday evening. There were some very good individual performances from Ballina, none more so than goalkeeper James Hanly, but we had to give second best to a fantastic Gaels side that played impressively from start to finish. There are seven more group games for the lads to play so plenty opportunities left yet.

Under 12A Hurling: Our U12 hurlers had a fantastic win over Toomevara on Friday night last. Aided by a slight breeze, Toomevara had slightly more of the play in the first half but Ballina's teamwork and sharp score-taking was excellent. It was all to play for at half-time and whenToome rattled the net early in the second half to level things up, there was concern. However, it then that the Ballina lads really put their shoulders to the wheel. Josh Egan was a rock in defence and Mathew Power was outstanding from play and from frees. This was a real team performance from all 13 lads who were involved. Next up it's Kilruane Mac Donagh's.

Under 12C Hurling: Came up against a physically strong Ballinahinch side who had too much for our lads who include many U10s. Although well down at half time, they battled back and struck two goals and a point after half-time and never threw in the towel.

U10 Hurling: The U 10 hurlers travelled to East Clare last Tuesday to take on the Banner's finest Scariff. The lads put in an excellent display and shaded it against a strong home side.Well done to the lads and their coaches. Wishing Jack Collins a speedy recovery from injury.

U8 Hurling: Superb hurling on view on Thursday in the evening sunshine from the U8 hurlers as they clashed swords in the field. Three 8 aside games took place and were very competitive against an excellent mines side. Well done to all.
