Trip to Croke Park

Tipperary used all their class and experience to edge home after a titanic battle against the immovable force that Dublin is fast becoming, in the All Ireland Senior Hurling semi-final last Sunday in Croke Park. 42 of the U8 & U10 boys and girls from Ballina GAA Club played their parts in supporting Tipp senior hurlers in this thrilling and hard-earned victory over Anthony Daly's side. It was an early start for the gang with a 9:30 appointment with Brendan Foley's bus. The motorway made it an easy road trip and after a pit stop along the way it was off to Croker and the big match. After shouting their hearts out they were just about able to summon the strength to walk to the waiting bus. Supermacs was the next port of call and after that it was back home to Ballina just before 10pm. It was a really great day out for all the children but it would not have been possible without the support of coaches and many parents who helped with the supervision on the trip. Credit must also go to the children who were great ambassadors for the families and the club. Well done to all.

James McKeogh Memorial Touranment ;

Was held in Dublin last Saturday, again prooved to be a great success. Four teams participated namely ,Ballina, Smith O Brien's, St Patricks Palmerstown, and Na Fianna. Some exciting hurling was played, Ballina despite being the only non-Senior team involved managed to win the series. The club would like to thank everyone who contributed to the organisation of the event, especially the host club Na Fianna who left no stone unturned and provided refreshments for all participants.
