North Tipperary U16A Football Champions

Congratulations to the Ballina U16’s who retained the North “A” football crown last week with a hard fought victory over Nenagh by a scoreline of 1:10 to 0:10. Ballina played with the aid of a strong breeze in the first half and led by a score of 0:07 to 0:03 at half time. This didn’t look like being enough of an advantage at that point, but the team dug deep and fought tenaciously in the second half. With Nenagh closing the gap, Ballina worked a great move up the field, and substitute Eamonn Healy rattled the net with what proved the decisive score. Great credit is due to the whole squad who now move on to a county semi final in June.

Family Fun & Respect Day 2011

Saturday next May 14th is our Family Fun & Respect Day. This year we are incorporating the GAA's "Give Respect, Get Respect" initiative as part of our fun day. Both Fun & Respect are free so they go hand in hand on day like this. Like last year's very successful event, it will feature Tug O' War, Parents' Penalty Shoot out as well as lots of fun and treats for the kids. It starts at 10am, with U6's & U8's boys and girls fun events. Then at 11:15 it's the Parents' Penalty Shoot Out (contact Mike at 086 172 7820 to take part if you dare), followed by the Tug o' War at 11:35 (contact Eamonn at 086 7737 237 if you are up to the challenge) At 12:00 the U10's and U12's will have their Fun & Respect Games.
