Creating your own Music: ākonga will spend time learning to create new music using real instruments and music technology.

Music will increase ākonga enjoyment in life, help develop confidence, explore creativity, and increase literacy.
Ākonga are learning to:
Use music technology to create new music
Create music in groups together
Perform to an audience (this may be just the class)
Work collaboratively with different people
Identify and sections in music (this could be a song or instrumental)
Read and write music notation
Class and small group learning. The school themes of wai/migration will be explored in compositions that are created.
This course will lead to NCEA Level 1 music. It is encouraged that music is studied in Year 9 and Year 10 to be successful in NCEA.
There are no required course material for this course.
