Animation, video editing, design principles, programming, the current and future landscape of Artificial Intelligence, as well as general digital literacy and key computing skills
Design and make animations, videos, and computer programs. Learn how Artificial Intelligence and its applications are changing the world we live in.
There are four Achievement Standards at NCEA L2 for Digital Technologies:
Standard 91891 - Apply conventions to develop a design for a digital technologies outcome (internal)
Standard 91893 - Use advanced techniques to develop a digital media outcome (internal)
Standard 91896 - Use advanced programming techniques to develop a computer program (internal)
Standard 91898 - Demonstrate understanding of a computer science concept (external)
Endorsement is available if ākonga achieve a mix of internal and external standards.
PLUS options are available for those who want to learn key industry-related computing skills in the form of Computing Unit Standards:
Standard 29769 - Use the main features and functions of a word processing application for a purpose (internal)
Standard 29770 - Use the main features and functions of a spreadsheet application for a purpose (internal)
Standard 29771 - Use the main features and functions of a presentation application for a purpose (internal)
Standard 29773 - Produce digital images for a range of digital media (internal)
Standard 29774 - Use the main features and functions of a desktop publishing application to create documents (internal)
Standard 2977 - Use the main features and functions of a database application to create and test a database (internal)
While not essential, it is recommended to have a PC at home that you can practice skills or research on.
