When does this course run: The course runs in either Semester 1 or 2 (ākonga can choose one or two semesters).
Dance Crew: ākonga will learn dance performance and choreography skills.

Dance will help ākonga express themselves, gain confidence, improve fitness and build teamwork skills. This is an active subject, and suited to ākonga who come ready to 'move'.
Ākonga learn to:
Participate and develop resilience
Work in a team
Learn dance steps and a series of dance routines
Express emotion, ideas and feeling in dance
Develop a dance routine
Perform to the class
Improve coordination & group awareness
We will work both as a class and in small groups to create and learn a series of dances. Some dances will link to the school theme of Wai and Migration. There will be opportunity for solos for those interested.
This course leads to NCEA Dance Level 1 and is relevant to NCEA Drama Level 1. Level 1 Dance needs enough interest for a class to run.
There are no required course material for this course.
