In Food and Nutrition Level 2, ākonga will be introduced to the advantages of using local foods and preserving. Students will look at the determinants of health and people's food choices.

Ākonga may have an interest in food preparation and want to gain more nutritional knowledge.
In this course, ākonga look at the relationships between hauora and personal food choices. They identify the nutritional concerns for targeted groups in the community and evaluate how sustainable food relates to themselves and society.
Practical lessons reflect the topics covered. Ākonga will have the opportunity to gain 19 credits, 15 internally and 4 externally.
Ākonga will have the opportunity to gain 20 credits. All credits are internally assessed.

Standard 91299 - Analyse issues related to the revision of food for people with specific food needs (internal)
