When does this course run: This Year 10 Physical Education course runs in either Semester 1 or 2 (ākonga can only choose one).
Year 10 Let's Get Active is designed to provide non-competitive, non-invasive opportunities for students to participate in physical activity and experience the positive influence that participation in movement has on Hauora/Wellbeing. E.g. Walking, Badminton, Table Tennis, Padder Tennis, Yoga, Swimming.

Experience different opportunities
Skills of cooperation, communication and collaboration with others will all be utilised and built on throughout the duration of this course. Ākonga will also have the opportunity to reflect and look inward to what type of activity and movement enhances joy.
The context will be determined by the interests of the ākonga in the class. However, making use of local resources will also be factored into the program. This may include; Haruatai park, local walking tracks, local river & beach. Ākonga will participate in a range of leisure activities to enhance the wellbeing of participants in this class.
This course is designed to build an enjoyment of regular physical activity and to continue to build positive habits for lifelong wellbeing. Ākonga who enjoy this course, may also like to move forward with study in an NCEA L1 Sport Studies or Physical Education class.
Students are required to bring their own PE gear for all lessons, this is any form of activewear they are comfortable in for PE at school.
