When does this course run: This course only runs in Semester 1.
Putting on a Drama: ākonga will work together as a team to gain skills and put on a production of a short play.

Drama helps ākonga understand others, gain confidence, be creative and build empathy and social skills.
Ākonga learn to:
Show character with voice, body, movement and space
Develop a character
Learn lines
Perform to the class or an invited audience
Use Theatre Lighting
Design costumes and props
Use stage make-up
Work as a team
Ākonga choose to be an actor or a designer for the final play.
We are developing a production of a short play as a class with props, costume and lighting. The themes of the play will link to the school theme of Wai and Migration. This will involve class and small group learning.
This course will lead to NCEA Level 1 Drama.
There are no required course material for this course.
