RIVER RAIDER

Dear BRMS Families,

Family conferences concluded this week and we hope you were able to find time to meet with your child’s teachers.  The collaboration between school and families is one of the greatest strengths of BRMS.  I truly appreciate seeing all of the connections we make with families during this time of year.  These meetings are meant to provide you with information about your child’s academic progress before first trimester report cards are mailed out on December 8th.  Your child’s VTCAP assessment scores from the spring of 2023 will be included in the report card mailing this year.  Please contact us if you were unable to schedule a conference and would like to meet with your child’s teacher.

Halloween is on Tuesday next week, and although we do not forbid students from dressing up for Halloween, we do not encourage the use of Halloween costumes at school.  Costumes should not be a distraction from the educational environment and they should be culturally sensitive to the diversity of our community.  We want our students to have fun enjoying traditions while at the same time not losing focus of the school day.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Have a great weekend!

Kevin
