Dear BRMS Families,
Earlier today a student shared a quote from Snoopy with me via email. “Everyday may not be good but there is good in every day”. This afternoon I was able to join Team Endurance for an afternoon hike at Indian Brook Reservoir in Essex. It was a wonderful opportunity to spend time outdoors with some of our students at BRMS. While out in the woods we were able to experience all that Vermont weather has to offer in a brief amount of time. Rain, snow, wind, sunshine, clouds and blue skies all in one outing! It was also a time to reflect on how thankful I am to be in Vermont where we can get outside and enjoy the beauty of our state and to be able to incorporate that beauty into a school day. I am also thankful to be at BRMS with fantastic kids and thoughtful teachers who care for them everyday. I hope that all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving Break and that you are able to find the “good in every day”!
Kevin
The BRMS Community (with the help and support of Ann Faryniarz and Jeff Wallis) were able to make a donation of older chrome books to Spectrum Youth & Family Services to help enhance their clients abilities to look for employment, housing opportunities and access to mental health supports!
BRMS would like to thank the Holy Rosary Church of Richmond for the generous support of gift cards to local grocery stores for a number of our families. We are always so THANKFUL for the continued support our community shows to help others. Happy Thanksgiving to you ALL!
The Food Shelf will be open this Saturday from 9 to 10:30 am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 273 Rt 15, Jericho.
Bags of staples, fresh and frozen food, including traditional Thanksgiving dinner ingredients, will be distributed to clients who remain in their vehicles. Weather permitting, there will also be miscellaneous items to choose from. Newcomers are welcome to register on the spot.
This holiday season we are especially thankful for generous local farmers and gardeners; shoppers who place food in designated bins at local markets; churches, schools, and businesses that sponsor food drives; and those who donate their time or make donations.
There is ongoing need for canned baked beans, ready to eat meals (like ravioli); cereal and oatmeal, peanut butter and fruit.
Financial contributions may be sent to the EJU Ecumenical Ministry Food Shelf at PO Box 65, Jericho VT 05465.
Please direct questions to ejufoodshelf@gmail.com or emergency phone 802-878-5997.
Next distribution will be Saturday Dec. 18th.
