Dear BRMS Families:
We have come to the time of year to start thinking about taking a dip into Lake Champlain! Mr. Warren is starting to build up the excitement for the annual tradition of participating in the Penguin Plunge to support the Vermont Special Olympics. Last year, 60 of our staff and students raised over $25,000 for this amazing cause. Students can sign up online using this link: BRMS Penguin Plunge 2026. Families are welcome to join us for this incredibly fun and inspiring event on the Burlington Waterfront. Remember that the water temperature is usually warmer than the air temperature on that day….. This year’s event is on February 7th.
On Wednesday, our gymnasium was filled with the sound of music and filled to the limits with nearly 500 audience members to support our 5th and 6th grade instrumental and chorus program. The students did an amazing job showing off their musical talent under the direction of Victoria Rosales and Bailey Brown. Our 7th and 8th grade musicians will be performing on Jan. 20th, at 7:00 p.m. Please join us for another amazing night of music at Browns River Middle School.
Just a reminder that Monday is Martin Luther King Day. All staff and students will have the day off from school to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King.
Enjoy your weekend.
Kevin
