Dear BRMS Families:
We are heading into our last week of school before our February Break. It feels like we are all ready for a little more sunshine and warmer weather as the sun gets higher in the horizon each day. Our basketball teams are wrapping up their seasons with their final games happening next week at the ADL tournament in Essex Junction. The annual staff student basketball game with our 8th grade players will be held next Friday. The teams are mixed with both students and staff. This is a tradition that our players look forward to every year!
Volleyball tryouts are starting next week. This program has grown tremendously over the years and many of our coaches are volunteering to support the program. The coaches have a challenging job assessing the different skill levels of our players and placing them on the appropriate teams. Some players may be disappointed by their team placement and the splitting of some social groups. Please encourage your child to stay with the program if they are disappointed with their placement. We believe that children show tremendous growth and resilience as they work through challenges. We have seen many new friendships that have developed throughout the volleyball season as the players are placed with students who they may not have a previous connection with at school.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Kevin
