RIVER RAIDER
Dear BRMS Families:
We are in full cabin fever mode at BRMS this week and are looking forward to seeing some sunshine next week!
The month of February’s arrival at BRMS brings with it two long held traditions at our school. The first is the Penguin Plunge on Saturday February 10th at the Burlington Waterfront. Over 50 of our students will be plunging into frigid Lake Champlain to raise funds for the Vermont Special Olympics. Over the past 20 years our students have raised an amazing amount of money for this event. This year we are currently the top school with nearly $15,000 dollars collected. Please support our school by clicking on the link above or by joining us on Saturday to cheer on our plungers!
The second event is our annual staff student basketball game that occurs on the Friday before February break. Our 8th grade basketball players get to showcase their skills in front of the entire student body during a fun game that is full of excitement and humor. This is an event that our 8th graders look forward to every year. Be sure to look for pictures from these events in future editions of the River Raider. We hope to get out to enjoy the sunshine this weekend!
Kevin
