Dear BRMS Families:

After nearly three years of having a dark stage, BRMS thespians will again be showcasing their acting skills with tonight’s production of “The Ever After”! The curtain will be raised at 7:00 for our BRMS community. This program is a short production of approximately 30 minutes and is free to all who attend. We are looking forward to rebuilding our program in the coming years with our annual fall performance and the spring musical in 2024. “Break a leg” to all of our BRMS performers!

The end of the school year is slowly coming into sight. We have an anticipated date of June 20th for our last student day. This date is yet to be finalized but we are hopeful that we will have no more snow days! That date would allow us to plan for the 8th grade recognition night to be scheduled for the evening of Monday June 19th. We are hoping to hold this event outside in our back fields with Mount Mansfield as the background. We will be holding a planning meeting for families at 7:30 on Tuesday April 11th in the BRMS library. We will establish our decorating and food committees on that night. It is a BRMS tradition for our families to help plan for this special event as we say goodbye to the BRMS class of 2023! Please plan on attending this event if you would like to help out.

Sports Updates

We're super proud of our Volleyball athletes who have worked so hard during March Madness! We are entering our last week next week, with the finale at Essex High School for the regional Jamboree.

If you want to come cheer on our school, we will be at Essex Middle School on Tuesday and two of our teams will be right here at home on Thursday!

There are also two more drop-in sessions open to 5th - 7th grade Monday and Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 7:00

Spring Track & Field Club

It’s time to throw, jump, hurdle, and run on the BRMS Track & Field Club. Signup outside the Gym on the bulletin board- deadline March 31. Take an information sheet from the envelope. Grades 5-8 are eligible to participate in Spring Track.

April- will meet from 2:45-3:25 a handful of times for conditioning. Season starts Monday- May 1st. Practice 3-4x week from 2:45-4pm. 1 Meet a week. 1 practice a week at MMU 2:45/4:30.

BRAG

Browns River Action Group (BRAG) is a nonprofit organization that supports BRMS. We help promote student self-esteem, support school staff, and assist in efforts to solve school needs through volunteering and fundraising.

SPRING 5/6 PARTY!

The Spring 5/6 Party is Friday, April 21 from 3:00-4:30 pm.

What is the 5/6 Party? An after-school event for 5th & 6th grade students.

There will be music, games, and prizes in the cafeteria.

If the weather’s nice, we’ll open the doors for outdoor space too!

How do 5/6 students sign up? All it takes is $5.00 per student and this permission slip. Families needing financial support, please contact kevin.hamilton@mmuusd.org.

What else do I need to know? We need parent volunteers!

It’s time to start planning 8th Grade Recognition! 8th grade parents and guardians are invited to attend this planning meeting. We’ll be discussing decorations, food, and more! Join us in the BRMS Health Room on Tuesday, April 11 at 7:30pm.
