RIVER RAIDER

Dear BRMS Families:

Our Family/Teacher conference season has begun and teachers have been sending out sign up information to families over the past  week.   Please be sure to sign up for a time to discuss the academic progress of your child.  Our teachers look forward to this time of year to make connections with families.   Please let us know if you have not received any information about these conferences.

Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 19, 2023, 7:00pm - 8:30pm.  Browns River Middle School, Camels Hump Middle School, and Mount Mansfield Union High School is sponsoring a special program for parents featuring Stephen Hill, a renowned national speaker on substance use prevention, mental health, and resilience.

Stephen has a truly inspiring comeback story that everyone must hear. He is the founder of Speak Sobriety, a young person in recovery, bestselling author, wellness coach, and an attorney. He has presented in front of thousands of people for over 500 schools and coalitions across the country.

Through knowledge gained from his own personal and professional experience, Stephen shows parents how to build resilient kids to make healthy choices and overcome adversity.

Stephen will also be speaking with all of our 7th & 8th grade students during the school day on October 20th. This is an amazing opportunity for parents to have a meaningful conversation with their children about the messages and lessons from Stephen’s program.   Please let us know if you would like to have your child opt out of this event on the 20th.

This event on the evening of the 19th is free and open to the public. The event will be held at Mount Mansfield Union High School Auditorium. Doors open at 6:30pm. We hope to see you there!

I would like to also remind you that there is no school on Monday Oct. 23rd for conferences.

Have a great weekend!

Kevin
