Dear BRMS Families:
Our staff and students were able to get outside and take advantage of the above normal temperatures and sunshine this week. We have one final fall athletic event this weekend. Our boys and girls cross country teams will be participating in the Vermont State Championships at the Hard’ack Recreation Park in St. Albans on Sunday. The first race starts at 11:00 a.m. Good luck to all of our runners and congratulations on a terrific season.
We will be holding our first 7/8th grade dance on November 11th from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Below you will find the school expectations for the event. Our goal is to hold a fun and healthy social event for all of our students. We ask that you go over these expectations with your child in the next couple of weeks. Please note that we do not allow students to leave the dance early with other families unless we have written permission from the guardian of a child. We take the safety of our students seriously and appreciate your understanding of this rule.
Our 5/6 party will be happening on November 18th from 3:00-4:30. BRAG will be organizing this event and will be looking for family volunteers to help run the event. They will be sending out information soon. We need enough volunteers to safely run the event. Please be sure to volunteer your time if you are available on the 11th!
Have a wonderful weekend.
Kevin
The dance begins at 7:00pm and ends at 9:00pm. Students are responsible for arranging a ride home at 9:00pm. The chaperones for the dance consist of administrators, faculty, and/or parents. Any student who cannot or will not follow the guidelines will be asked to leave and parents will be notified to come pick them up.
All BRMS school rules are in effect at school dances.
Students are to remain in the designated area from the time of arrival until the end of the dance. Students must have written parental permission to leave the dance early or be picked up at the door.
Only BRMS seventh and eighth graders may attend school dances.
No students will be admitted into the dance after 8:00pm except those accompanied by a parent.
Dance styles deemed unacceptable by chaperones for reasons of safety will not be permitted.
Students who did not attend school on the day of the dance are not allowed to attend.
All BRMS school rules are in effect at school dances.
Dances held in the lunchroom.
Ski/Ride Bus to Bolton Valley is full!
That was fast! The bus to Bolton has reached capacity for transporting students to the mountain for night skiing on Wednesdays in February. You can still sign up to receive the discounted group ticket deal but families will need to provide their own ride to and from the mountain. Sign up here to receive the discounted rate.

Dear BRMS Families,
As the weather outside gets cooler and darker, our healthy habits and routines sometimes adjust and change. For some, exercise and healthy eating declines while screen time increases. In 7th grade Guidance classes, we are currently talking about healthy screen time, balance, and the advantages and disadvantages of communicating on a screen.
We want remind folks that *you are role models for screen-time health and balance. Pay attention to your own habits— they are watching and learning from you. Check out the following article for some simple wisdom on this…
