RIVER RAIDER

Dear BRMS Families:

Our students are excited about the fresh coverage of snow and they are counting down the days until the February Break.  Our basketball season concluded this week with a thrilling double overtime win over ADL by our 8th grade girls basketball team.  The season will officially end next Friday afternoon with the annual staff vs. students basketball game.  Our 8th grade players look forward to this tradition every year and it is a great way to send our students off to break.  Volleyball will be starting when we return and we will soon be looking towards the baseball and softball season in April.

When we return in March many of our students will be participating in the Spectrum Youth Sleep Out.  Each spring our students raise awareness and financial support for homeless youth in Vermont.  Greg Martin initiated participation in this event years ago and it has helped to educate our youth on the importance of community involvement and activism.  This year two 8th grade students, Sam Rodriquez and Brooklyn Belfield, will be taking over the organization of this event.  They will be providing more information to students and families in the coming weeks about how to support and participate in this event.  We are proud to see these two young adults take such an active role in supporting the community.

Have a great weekend!   Only 5 more days until break!
