Dear BRMS Families:
Hot summer temperatures arrived at BRMS this week along with the cool soothing sounds of jazz music! Today we hosted the District 3 Middle School Jazz Festival with students visiting from 12 different schools across Chittenden County. BRMS music teachers started this festival several years ago and we are happy that the tradition has returned to our school. Students will be performing tonight in our gymnasium at 5:15. Be sure to come out and enjoy the talents of several of our own BRMS students and students from across the region.
With only one week until spring break athletes have returned to the fields as well. Softball, baseball, and track all got off to a great start with above normal temperatures and dry fields. We will be adding club ultimate frisbee to the list of activities next week. We will also be hosting our 5/6 party on Friday April 21st immediately after school. Students should return their permission slips to BRMS early next week.
When we return to school after the break our students will be taking the VTCAP assessments in mid May. The VTCAP is the replacement for the SBAC assessment. All students will be participating in the Math and ELA assessments. 5th and 8th grade students will also be required to take the science assessment. We will be providing more details as the dates get closer. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the warm temperatures!
Kevin

Dear BRMS Families~
We hope that you and your children are enjoying this warm Spring weather and are spending time together outside– cleaning up the yard, getting that bike ready, taking your dog for long walks….AND reducing time on screens!.
We wanted to share some research and guidance on phone usage with adolescents. We hope that these resources can support you in providing caring boundaries to promote healthy relationships with devices. Take a look…
