Chess Tournament!

Dear BRMS Families,

The month of February seems to be moving quickly at BRMS! The warmer temperatures over the last couple of days brings the hope of spring and the decreasing COVID numbers brings the hope of returning to pre-pandemic activities in the last part of our school year. The basketball season concluded on Thursday with victory over Camels Hump by our girls A team. It was obvious that these two teams had great friendships with each other and that they are looking forward to playing together at MMU. We are excited that we will be able to hold our traditional staff student game on the day before our winter break. Our staff and students look forward to this game every year and we have made some amazing memories over the years with our departing 8th grade students. We hope to live stream the event so families and students can enjoy the event as well. When we return from break in March we will be running our club volleyball season and then we will move into baseball and softball in April.

The health and well being of our children is the top priority for us as educators at BRMS. We care a great deal for all of our children as they travel through the typical challenges of middle school life and the added challenges over the last couple of years. Over the past couple of weeks we have noticed an increased amount of conversations about student vaping. We would like to encourage all families to have conversations with their children about the dangers of vaping and the long term impact on their health. Below you will find some resources to help guide you in these conversations. Please feel free to contact me or our guidance counselors, Greg Martin and Jennifer Wisniowski, if you have any questions or concerns that you might like to discuss with us.
