Dear BRMS Families,
The colder temperatures have arrived at BRMS this week, and this is the time of year that our lost and found bins start overflowning when our students shed their layers at recess. If your child is missing their warmer clothing please remind them to check the lost and found bins located by our front stairwell.
The fall sports season is quickly coming to an end after a great season of warm weather for our games and practices. Our cross country team will be hosting a home meet invitational on Tuesday, with our first race starting at 4:30 pm. Please be sure to come out to support our runners as they race around on a 3 kilometer course on our athletic fields. Our soccer and field hockey teams will be finishing up their season next week. The cross country teams will be finishing up their season with the County and State championships the following week. I am extremely proud of how our athletes positively represented themselves and BRMS, both on and off the field of play. Congratulations to all of our athletes on an amazing season of competition!
Our teachers will be reaching out to families to schedule conferences over the next couple of weeks. Please be sure to schedule a time to meet with your child’s teacher. We look forward to working with families to make sure all of our students are supported in both their academic and emotional needs as they move through middle school. Please let us know if you are having challenges finding a time to meet with our teachers. We will look to accommodate all our families schedules.
Have a great weekend.
Kevin

The 8th graders this year designed 2 items! Hoodies with a fun design on the back that are maroon colored and brown long sleeve t-shirts. The cost of these hoodies will be $33.00 and the long sleeves are $23.00 and be shipped directly to the school. A % of the proceeds go right back to the BRMS chorus department. The online store closes on November 6th.

Thank you.

Health, Wellness & Support Group Opportunity
MMUUSD has a district priority of supporting social and emotional mental health for all students. Here at BRMS, we will be offering a number of small discussion and support groups through the School Counseling Center for 5th and 6th graders. These groups will meet during school time (lunch or recess) 1x a week for 20 minutes ( approximately 1-2 months). They will be facilitated by Mr. Martin. Mr. Martin will review information and follow up with students individually who elected to join a specific group to move forward. Parents will be contacted and informed. Unfortunately, not all groups will be run.
What is BRAG? We are the Browns River Action Group, consisting of parents, staff, and teachers, working together to support and enrich all student life.
