BRMS Ultimate Frisbee!

Dear BRMS Families,

Today was a big day at BRMS! This morning we welcomed our incoming 5th graders to our school while at the same time we watched our 8th grade students leave for MMU to begin their journey at high school. It is always amazing to observe the incredible differences between our future 5th grade students and our departing 8th graders. What a difference four years make in the lives of our students! Our current 8th grade class has endured many ups and downs over the last couple of years due to the pandemic restrictions. We hope that they will be able to enjoy all of the opportunities that the high school has to offer them in the coming years.

It was a wonderful day at BRMS as we learned more about our new students and we look forward to getting to know all of our new families over the next four years.

Technology Tips for Families

Growing up has always been a challenge, but it seems today's kids are having an especially rough time. Anxiety, depression, and the youth suicide rate have been on the rise for the last decade, especially for girls and children of color. It's safe to say that the need for easily accessible mental health tools that kids can use privately and safely is more critical than ever.

Depending on your family's needs, you can find apps and sites designed for immediate help, ongoing support, information, and positive mental health habits. If your kid is going to use any of these tools, it's a good idea to review them yourself to see how they work and to check their privacy policies to learn how they handle sensitive information. You can contact renee.langevin@mmuusd.org if you'd like to know more about data privacy.
