Dear BRMS Families:
All of our students were a little sleepy at the end of the day today after our kitchen staff provided us with an amazing harvest lunch. Students and staff feasted on healthy servings of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, squash, and peas! A special thank you goes out to Billi, Tracey, Misty, April, and Ann for providing our community with an incredible lunch today, and throughout the school year.
Our fall 5/6 party will be held on Friday Nov. 21, from 3:00pm-4:15pm in our lunch room and gymnasium. 5th and 6th grade students will be able to hang out with their friends, play games, and fast dance to music played from a Super Sounds DJ! This is a great time for our kids to spend time together, and have fun before Thanksgiving Break. We are still looking for parent chaperones to help supervise this event. If we do not have enough volunteers, we are not able to host this party. Please be sure to sign up in the link found in the BRAG section of this newsletter.
Unfortunately, due to the continued cloudy weather we will need to cancel the Vermont Astronomical Society Star Party that was scheduled for this evening, and for tomorrow’s rain date. We hope to reschedule this event next spring.
We hope you have a great weekend!
Kevin
During the early evening hours of Wednesday, November 19th, Mount Mansfield Unified Union School District will conduct a test of our Emergency Notification System. This routine test ensures our communication tools are working properly.
Families will receive a message via phone, text, and email stating:
“This is a test of our emergency notification system. MMUUSD will use this system to notify you in the event of a school closure, early dismissal, or other emergency. If you have received this message in error or would like to add or delete a phone number, please contact your local school or email data@mmuusd.org.”
Important: If you would like to receive emergency notifications via text message, please send a text to 67587 with the message “Y” or “Yes” prior to Wednesday, November 19th.
If you do not receive a message during the evening of November 19th please email data@mmuusd.org to ensure delivery of future notifications.
Friendly reminder that Wednesday’s message is only a test. Thank you for helping us maintain a reliable communication system for our district.

This year, we're turning a small roadblock into something big: a safe, unforgettable graduation celebration for the Class of 2026. Join us for "Closed Roads, Open Chances" — a community fundraiser and raffle supporting MMU's Project Grad. Every ticket purchased helps us give our seniors the send-off they deserve.
Click on the link to purchase a raffle ticket for $10. (Multiple entries are welcome!) With each entry, guess the date the Notch Road will close for the season, and add a time for tie-breaking purposes.
The winner (with the correct date and the closest time) will take home the full pot of $1000!
Thank you for supporting Project Grad!
