Dear BRMS Families:
We have concluded our 2nd trimester of the school year and student report cards are being mailed out this afternoon. Families should receive report cards by early next week. Please contact us if you have not received this document by the end of the week. Additionally, we are holding our spring conferences over the next couple of weeks. Please contact your child’s teacher if you would like to discuss your child’s academic progress for the school year.
Now that we have entered the last trimester of the school year we are beginning to think about end of the school year events. Our last student day will be on June 18th and 8th Grade Recognition Night will be held on the evening of June 17th. Traditionally our 8th grade families have helped to plan the event and we will be holding our first organizational meeting on April 2nd at 6:00 in the school library. Please join us if you would like to help plan this event for our departing students.
We will be administering the Vermont Comprehensive Assessment Program tests to all of our students in the month of April. All students will be participating in ELA and Math testing while our 5th and 8th grade students will also be participating in a Science assessment. Our 5th and 6th students complete testing from April 1st-4th and our 7th and 8th grade students will be testing from April 7th to April 11th.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the warmer weather this weekend.

Literacy Audit
This year, we have been looking closely at literacy instruction across our district. As such, our district is conducting an audit of our current literacy practices, resources, supports, and assessments. From Marzano, a highly respected researcher and leader in education, “A literacy audit helps districts and schools ensure their literacy practices, supports, and assessment systems are grounded in research and evidence-based practices and designed to meet the needs of all learners.”
The audit will include a deep dive into our student learning data, surveying stakeholders to include students and caregivers, and conducting classroom observations, honing in on best practices across our district in literacy. Please consider taking time to reflect on your student’s current literacy experiences at MMUUSD. If you have more than one student, you may take this survey multiple times. Middle school students will also have the opportunity to participate in taking a survey about their literacy experiences at school. Please let us know if you would not like to have your child participate in this survey. Survey for Families

THANK YOU to all of you parents and guardians in the Jericho and Underhill Communities. When I started this 11 years ago, I had no idea what this would look like and how to make this happen. This project means a great deal to me personally and I'm thrilled to say that this community has raised over $120,000.00 during this time. To be able to significantly help others while educating our young people on how they can make a difference has been an amazing journey. We appreciate your support.
