Dear BRMS Families,
Student Report Cards for the first trimester of the school year were sent out to families on Friday afternoon. Included in this envelope will be your child’s results for the VTCAP assessments that were given in the spring of 2023. Click on this link for a Family Interpretation Guide to help you better understand these results. These documents serve not only as a reflection of your child’s academic performance but more importantly it shows their growth and improvement. Report cards encourage students to take ownership of their learning especially when families focus on the teacher's comments. The partnership between families and teachers is crucial in the educational process. When families engage with report cards, they are more equipped to understand their child's needs to better support them as they learn and grow in middle school. You should receive this information by the middle of next week. Please contact us if you have any questions about your child’s results or if you have not received this information by the end of next week.

In recognition of research showing that condom availability programs increase condom use, promote delayed sexual initiation or abstinence, provide medical care costs savings, and reduce HIV, STD, and unplanned pregnancy risk and in accordance with the Vermont Statute on Provision of Contraceptives (16 V.S.A. § 132), the District has adopted this condom availability procedure.
Per Vermont statute, condoms along with educational materials are available to students grade 7 and older free of charge and are located in the following BRMS locations: School Nurse office and 7th/8th Guidance office (Jennifer Wisniowski).
