To achieve the dimension of being open-minded, reflective, and communicative, I conducted in-depth discoveries into the complexity of identity, collectively gathering unique thoughts on the topic through the lens of women by reading literature and journals, and the significance of addressing social barriers. The learning process broadened my vocabulary and understanding, improved my articulation, expression, and gestures to convey my encouragement, and ultimately, reflect upon the existing barriers of selves, female identity, and the essentiality of being vocal to define our “Who am I."

The process of making this TEDTalk Speech started from reading the novel “Pashmina”. About an Indian-American teenage girl who struggles to understand her own cultural identity, and along the way, find out about the structural problem of patriarchy that her mom has to deal with in India. Inspired by the theme of patriarchy and women’s empowerment, I made a speech that highlights the various victims of patriarchy. Writing the script made me reflect on how the values of patriarchy are still implemented in my community, and allows me to communicate its negative impacts. Besides that, the learning process also helped me in reaching the dimensions of Action-oriented, Caring, and Impactful Leading.
