Saving Endangered Species
For my science project, I created a diorama about the story of the Sumatran Tiger as endangered species in Indonesia. The Sumatran tiger is a native species to the island of Sumatra and the last tiger in Indonesia. I have done my research related to its habitat, diet, adaptation, and threats. I found out that the Sumatran Tiger become endangered because of illegal hunting/poaching, habitat loss because of illegal logging, and climate change. I provide an overview of these threats in the diorama that I made.
Bawean Deer is an endemic animal that lives on Bawean island, on the Northern coast of East Java. The IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) classified Bawean Deers are critically endangered. Endemic species have a high vulnerability to extinction in the near future. Through my research, I found out the habitat, diet, adaptation, threats, and how to save them. Thus, I decided to create a diorama of the Bawean Deer habitat. Bawean Deer lives in the diverse environments such as Savana, and dense forest or bushes
From my research about the endangered species in Indonesia, I found one cute species which is the silvery gibbon, also known as Javan Gibbon. It is listed as endangered animals in IUCN Red List since 2008. I research about its habitat, diet, and adaptation. As the final project, I painted a silvery gibbon with its cool silvery fur and cute smile.
I have created AR (Augmented Reality) project to raise people's awareness about orangutan. Orangutan or mawas is the type of great ape which lives in the Sumatra and Kalimantan rainforest. I have done my research on its habitat, diet, threats and other stuff related to orang utan. By completing this project, I have improved my Intelligent, Communicative, and Innovative dimensions.
My project is about endangered species in Indonesia. I selected Sumatran Elephants that live in Riau Province. I assembled the diorama that represents the destroyed forest caused by humans. I have applied my communicative and innovative dimension by presenting the project and creating my diorama.
Florest Hawk-Eagle is one of the endangered animals from Indonesia. This animal become almost extinct because of habitat degradation, habitat loss, and poaching for trade. I also created a painting for the project.
In this science project, I choose to do my research about Jalak Bali. Jalak Bali is known as one of the beautiful bird from West Bali. I do my research about ecosystem, characteristic, habitat, and diet. Jalak Bali become endangered because of the price is quite fantastic in illegal trading. Thus, to promoted the awareness of Jalak Bali to other people, I make a painting to draw a Jalak Bali.
Leopard is known as one of the fastest animal in the world. Javan Leopard is one of the leopard species and it comes from Indonesia, specifically from the forest of Java Island. I do research about its ecosystem, adaptation, and diet/feeding. Javan Leopard is in endangered because of habitat loss and prey base depletion. To save Javan Leopard we need all layer of community involved to protect them.
We know that we have an ancient animals in Komodo Island, which is Komodo Dragon. Recently, Komodo become an issue because of the Jurassic Park project. Thus, I am interest to bring Komodo as my science project. I do research about its habitat, adaptation to stay alive and kills their prey, and diet. I created a painting about Komodo to complete my research project.
This big species is in danger. Sumatran elephant is the subspecies of the Asian Elephant, one of the two species of elephant in the world. Just like the name, Sumatran Elephant can be found in Sumatra, Indonesia. They prefer to live in the moist rainforest. I do research about the habitat, adaptation, and the causes they become an endangered animals. Through this painting, I would like to show that Sumatran Elephants are in danger because of habitat loss and illegal logging.
Jalak Bali is an endemic species from Indonesia and can only be found in the western part of Bali. Jalak Bali is known for the white body, black tip on the wings and tail, blue bare skin around the eyes, greyish legs, and yellow bill. I try to show the beauty of Jalak Bali through my painting. I only draw one Jalak Bali to show that Jalak Bali is endangered species due to illegal hunting and trading. I also do some research about Jalak Bali related to its characteristics, habitat, nature, and location. I also present ways to conserve Jalak Bali is by building shelter, educating people, and giving punishment.
