I chose my term 4 summative because I tried my best to make it as complete as possible and put as much relevant information as I can. For this summative assessment, I had to pick an optical equipment to research and find out how it relates to properties of light and how it works and its history. I think the assignment is a nice challenge to look back on what I've learnt, and I think I did pretty well in it.
My topic for this assignment is about Newtonian telescopes (reflecting telescopes/reflectors). I learnt a lot about the history and invention of reflectors, its mechanism, and how it relates to the optics subject. It showed me about how much of an impact on science this invention made, which I think is really interesting to learn about.
This assignment makes me more fascinated at all the progress we made in science/astronomy. It makes me further understand about the mechanisms behind reflecting telescopes, and also about properties of light & the topic of optics in general. I like astronomy. Telescope fun :)
I choose my term 3 formative because I put a lot of effort to put as much important information into it, and I'm happy with how it turned out. The assignment itself was also pretty interesting to me because we had to choose an optical phenomena and explain it in detail.
While researching for this essay, I learned about a thing called Fermat's principle, but more importantly I learned about how drastically temperatures can affect optics. During my research, I did find many things I didn't understand, but in my opinion, those things just gave me more incentive to find more information relating to it so that my essay is more understandable to everyone.
Aside from giving me a fun fact about mirages, I now know more about the ways temperatures and optics affect each other, which could help me in the future when I learn more about other topics relating to optics by giving me base knowledge on how it works.
I chose this essay because this relates the most to my fascination with Physiology and how the human body works. I loved learning about how the human body's natural systems that keep it alive. And I believe I did a pretty great job at it and tried my best to fill in the requirements.
I learned how smoking can really affect the systems of the body. Ranging from COPD to Chron's Disease, the effects of smoking is detrimental. It showed me the dangers of smoking and made me wise enough to be against it.
Learning about the dangers of smoking helped me in knowing that I should never smoke. That knowledge could save my life and give a healthy life in general. And so, I am very glad to have had learned this much from it.
I choose it because it's informative and I think I did a good job making it.
I learned the history and the mechanism of a refactoring telescope.
This topic teaches me the advantages and disadvantages of a refracting telescope, so if I want to buy a refracting telescope I would already know the disadvantages.
I chose this project because I put the greatest effort in this project and I'm proud with it. I also believe not many people know about the upside-down rainbow since we don't have one in here. Therefore, I want to share it with others.
From this project, I learn how to calculate the frequency, how the Circumzenithal Arc is formed, and the reason why the red color in upside-down raibow is always at outer most layer, while the violet color is at the innermost layer, and all of these have something to do with the wavelength and the frequency. I also came to know that for the upside down rainbow to form, the sun must fall between 5 - 32 degree, otherwise it is not formed. I learned a lot from this project and my article gives a great deal of detailed information.
By learning the science of Circumzenithal Arc, I became to know that there are a lot of phenomena in the sky that I didn't know before, in which each of the phenomenon occurs through a process related to the science of optics. This project has made me aware of that, and made me more curious about that.
