To achieve the dimensions of Intelligent and Innovative, I ventured to cover a song by the legendary Dewa 19. I chose "Larut" from "Republik Cinta" album that was released 16 years ago. In this song, I was challenged to focus on the pattern because the biggest difficulty was how to keep the tempo steady yet not lose the groove/soul of the beat. Through this song I can increase my patience in playing patterns repetitively

To achieve the dimensions of Intelligent and Innovative, I chose a song called "Faded" which was written by one of the most influential musicians of our time, Alan Walker. In my opinion, Faded is a challenging song for drummers because Alan Walker uses various electronic instruments in this song. Therefore, the (acoustic) drummers are required to do many modifications and different approaches to get the right feel. My Intelligent and Innovative dimensions have grown significantly thanks to this song! Thanks, Alan

Meanwhile, on other occasions, I choose another song that has a different genre and atmosphere from Faded. Yup, that song is Yellow which was composed by a superb band called Coldplay. I believe that my Intelligent, Innovative, and Open-Minded dimensions will get better if I dare to open my mind-set and want to learn songs from across genres.
