Attaching Labels to Books

Spine Label

Attach the spine label firmly on the spine of the book, 1.25" from the bottom of the spine.

Be careful not to cover any essential information on the book not repeated on the label (for example "A-P" / "v.1" / "2005" / or abstract numbers).

If necessary, reprint the label with this additional information.

Pocket Label

Attach the pocket label in the back of the book below the barcode.

Record Statistics

If the item you labeled needs further processing (such as a property stamp or tattle tape), do not count the item as one item processed.

For those items that are ready for the shelf, record each book labeled as one item processed on the Processing Statistics Sheet next to today's date.
