1. Do an advanced repository search for physical items in transit.
Physical Items where (Process type equals "Transit").
Save the results into a set. Name the set, for example, "Items IN TRANSIT."
2.Download the set to Excel.
Go to Manage Sets, view the results of the set you created, and export to Excel (all fields).
Name your Excel file with the date, e.g. "All_items_in_Transit_20190403.xlsx."
3. Manage the Excel file.
Open the Excel file and do the following:
Highlight the barcode column and re-format it as Text so Excel doesn't change the numbers
Hide columns except for "Barcode", "Library", "To Library", and "Expected Arrival Time".
Sort the file by "Expected Arrival Time".
Grey-out expected arrival times within the last 30 days (or simply delete these lines from your spreadsheet).
Now sort the file a second time by "To Library".
4. Remove the items from Transit.
Set your location to Carothers Library - Main Circulation.
Go to Fulfillment => Scan in Items. (Make sure "Register in-house use" is unchecked.)
Copy and paste one barcode at a time into the Scan item barcode field and hit OK or press enter.
Confirm that the message from Alma says to reshelve the item in its proper location.
On the spreadsheet, highlight in a color the cell with the barcode you just scanned to keep track of your work.
Note: If the item has a process of Technical Services on it, edit the item record and remove the Process type by changing the Process type drop-down menu to blank. Then re-scan the item so that Alma says reshelve in its proper location.
Note: If the destination of the item is a branch library, you'll have to change your location to the circ desk at the branch library and then scan in.
5. Repeat this process once a month.
