Controlling order of e-resources in View It

The following procedure determines the order in which e-resource collections and platforms are displayed in the View It area of Primo. Specific collections or platforms can be set to display first or last, and within the categories "first" and "last" the order of individual collections and platforms can be set.

=======

Go to Alma Configuration => Fulfillment => Discovery Interface Display Logic => Online Services Order

To ensure that an electronic collection or platform comes up first in the list of links:

Add to top

Service type: Full Text

Service name: Electronic collection [or, to make an entire platform come up first, select "Interface".]

Service value: [select name of collection or interface]

Add to top

Then use the Move Up and Move Down arrows to adjust the list.

To ensure that an electronic collection or platform comes up last in the list of links:

Add to last services

Service type: Full Text

Service name: Electronic collection [or, to make an entire platform come up first, select "Interface".]

Service value: [select name of collection or interface]

Add to last services

Then use the Move Up and Move Down arrows to adjust the list.

Use this feature to make sure certain databases (e.g. EBSCOhost Academic Search Premier) or platforms (e.g. EBSCOhost or JSTOR) show up first. Some libraries use this to make open access versions show up before toll-access publisher versions.

We use it to put at the bottom of the list problematic platforms (e.g. Free E-Journals, Nexis Uni) and in some cases free collections where we also have subscribed access from the same publisher.
