What does being a First-Generation College Graduate mean to you?
To me, being a First-Generation College Graduate means taking risks, getting out of your comfort zone, and the culmination of my resilience, hard work, and accomplishments. Gracias a mis padres por todo su apoyo. Los amo.
What is your proudest moment from your time at UCSD?
There were so many moments where I felt proud. From ranging to holding an officer position in a Student-run Free Clinic, HFiT, to getting A's in papers and assignments for my capstone classes. But definitely, graduating will be one of my proudest moments from my time at UCSD as it reflects my resilience, perseverance, and intellectual pursuits.
Who are the family members, friends or loved ones who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?
I am immensely grateful for my family, friends, and HDS amigas for always supporting me and encouraging me to keep striving for more. Thank you for uplifting me and believing in me even when I did not believe in myself. Gracias.
What do you plan or hope to do after graduating?
After graduating, I am planning on taking a gap year. I plan on applying for my Master's degree at San Diego State University.
