What does being a First-Generation College Graduate mean to you?
It means the American Dream that my parents came to this country to achieve for our family.
What is your proudest moment from your time at UCSD?
Challenging myself academically every quarter, surprising myself that I too belonged here among so many smart people.
Who are the family members, friends or loved ones who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?
There are several: My girlfriend Shannon - she's been a rock by my side and very supportive of my studies throughout this whole process; this couldn't have been possible without her. My family - they've always said that education is the key to success. My GPS friends - they know how difficult these two years have been, and getting through it all has been easier because of them. My former bosses at LeSar Development Consultants (Jennifer LeSar) and Climate Action Campaign (Nicole Capretz) - coming back to school was also influenced by their constant push to better myself. My colleagues at the City of San Diego - Cody and so many others have been so supportive of my school schedule while also giving me new opportunities with cool projects at the City or at San Diego Community Power. Thank you all.
What do you plan or hope to do after graduating?
Promote the voices of the less fortunate while fighting the climate crisis.
