• What does being a First-Generation College Graduate mean to you?

Being a First-Generation College Graduate means that I am able to show progress for both my family and our generation. I can inspire the next generation in my family and be the support system for them that I was not able to have. Being a First-Generation College Graduate also proves that as long as we have the determination, we can definitely reach our goals. We should never be afraid to step out of our comfort zones to fulfill our dreams.

• What is your proudest moment from your time at UCSD?

I am extremely thrilled and proud that we are able to finish the last few quarters with perseverance and flexibility as the Class of 2020. Although there were many drastic changes in just a few days, we were able to adapt quickly and not let anything hinder us from graduating.

• Who are the family members, friends or loved ones who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?

My friends and the people I met in my organizations have been most influential throughout my college journey. I want to say thank you to all of you for always believing in me. Thank you for trusting me and believing in me when I was not able to believe in myself. I am truly grateful for all the love, support, and faith I was fortunate enough to have received from you!

• What do you plan or hope to do after graduating?

My short-term goal is to find a full-time job in the medical field, as I am waiting for PA programs to get back to me regarding any possible interviews. My long-term goal is to become a PA and continue to help the underserved communities!
