What does being a First-Generation College Graduate mean to you?
Being a First-Generation College Graduate is an honor because it means that I get to make my family proud. It is a way to show them that all of my hard work and all of the sacrifices they had to make over the years have finally paid off. This is an accomplishment for not only me, but for my family as well.
What is your proudest moment from your time at UCSD?
My proudest moment was not giving up throughout my four years at UCSD. Being the first person in my family to attend a university, the transition process was not easy. There were a lot of obstacles that I had to face and many times I felt like giving up, but through hard work and perseverance, I can finally say that I am graduating from UCSD.
Who are the family members, friends or loved ones who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?
Thank you to my family and friends for supporting me throughout my educational career. I would not be where I am today if it weren't for your guidance and motivation over the years that kept me going. Love you all!
Who are the staff, faculty or mentors who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?
Thank you to all of my biology professors at UCSD that inspired and motivated me over the years. If it weren't for your enthusiasm and love for biology, I probably would have never changed my major to Human Biology.
What do you plan or hope to do after graduating?
After graduating, I plan to get a job in healthcare in order to gain more experience and hopefully apply to PA School in the future.
