What does being a First-Generation College Graduate mean to you?
Being a First-Generation College graduate means finally accomplishing one of my biggest dreams. Ever since I could remember my biggest goal was to graduate college. Not only have I accomplished one of my biggest dreams but I was able to become a role model for the younger children in my life. I want them to see that the sky is the limit and that they can do anything as long as they put their heart into it.
What is your proudest moment from your time at UCSD?
My proudest moment from my time at UCSD was when I made the switch from Pharmacological Chemistry to International Business. Once I made the switch I found genuine interests in the courses I was taking and felt myself enjoying my college experience more.
Who are the family members, friends or loved ones who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?
I want to thank my friends for always being there for me and for all of the wonderful memories. This experience truly would not have been the same without you and I will always treasure the memories we’ve made! ♡
I also want to thank my family for being my biggest supporters. I’d like to specifically thank my aunt. Thank you for everything, from answering my frantic calls asking for advice to picking me up from the train/bus station. You're always there for me and without you I wouldn’t be who I am today. Thank you for being the best role model I could have ever asked for ♡
What do you plan or hope to do after graduating?
I hope to find a career that I truly enjoy and be able to give back to my family.
