What does being a First-Generation College Graduate mean to you?
Being a First-Gen College Graduate means that I have taken a step towards a future the family has only dreamt of. It also means that my cousins and those who come after me will have guidance.
What is your proudest moment from your time at UCSD?
One of my proudest moments at UCSD was getting published with Dr. Wong at the US Immigration Policy Center.
Who are the family members, friends or loved ones who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?
Thank you to everyone who has helped me during my four years at UCSD. I would not have been able to do it without y'all.
Who are the staff, faculty or mentors who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?
Dr. Wong, thank you for all the help and the opportunities you have presented me with. Thanks you for being a role model, your story is inspiring. Father Boom, thank you for always listening and being a mentor. Brittney Cannizzaro, thank you for being a great boss and friend. Thanks for listening to me vent and letting me hang out with you and stevie.
What do you plan or hope to do after graduating?
The short-term goal is to continue working at the USIPC and help with more immigration research. The long term goal is to attend grad school and eventually work on immigration policy.
