What does being a First-Generation College Graduate mean to you?
It is a great accomplishment for me and my family. I am the first person to ever attend college and graduate with a STEM degree in my family.
What is your proudest moment from your time at UCSD?
Being involved in two different research labs as well as being part of a publication manuscript for one of the labs.
Who are the family members, friends or loved ones who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?
My family has always supported me in everything I wanted to do. I am thankful for having them and for always listening to me when I had a problem but also encouraging me and always believing in me.
Who are the staff, faculty or mentors who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?
All my female STEM professors have been very influential. In particular my lab mentor who has been an amazing person and has shared so much about her experiences in college and graduate school.
What do you plan or hope to do after graduating?
I plan to attend graduate school and enroll in a PhD program.
