What does being a First-Generation College Graduate mean to you?
Being first-generation means new opportunities for me and my family. It means being able to walk new paths and explore new environments. It means a new perspective of life and new horizons. An open door for materializing my goals and dreams.
What is your proudest moment from your time at UCSD?
My proudest moments at UCSD are two. The first one was to gain membership as a member of the Tau Sigma honor society of transfer students. My second moment was to become a member of the Caledonian Society of Muir College's Senior Honors society by academic achievement.
Who are the family members, friends or loved ones who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?
I just want to say thank you to all the people that were there for me, supporting me to continue with my studies, dreams, and goals. Especially, my family, it has been unconditional from the beginning to the final of my journey.
Who are the staff, faculty or mentors who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?
Every professor has contributed to my knowledge and I am grateful for all their pieces of advice given.
What do you plan or hope to do after graduating?
After graduating, I am planning to go to graduate school to prepare myself to work with vulnerable communities that need the most support and help. Finishing my career in sociology is being able to understand diverse communities and being an actor in helping others.
